The site humble beginings can be traced back to a meeting of amdram enthusiasts in 2002 who were keen to develop a new home for all things Amdram, Amateur Theatre, Amateur Drama and Amateur Dramatics related.
The Greater Manchester Drama Federation (GMDF) is recognised as one of the leading associations representing amateur theatre in the North West of England.
The National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA), founded in 1899, is the main representative body for amateur theatre in the UK. It has a membership of some 2500 amateur/community theatre groups and 3000 individual enthusiasts throughout the UK, staging musicals, operas, plays, concerts and pantomimes in a wide variety of performing venues, ranging from the country's leading professional theatres to village halls. Members have access to a wide range of benefits.
The principal aim of the Stephen Sondheim Society is to promote the works of Stephen Sondheim in the UK and elsewhere, and to create a greater interest and appreciation of them by means of circulating information and providing a focal point where those interested can share such interests.
