Farnworth Performing Arts Company

The company was formed in 1930 as Farnworth Amateur and Dramatic Society "to educate the public and develop their appreciation and taste in plays, drama, comedies, operettas, and other dramatic and operatic works" (extract from original constitution) and whilst we might not now put it in quite these terms, we have for almost eighty years, tried to present the very best of theatre to our audience.  With the exception of 1939-45 the company has produced a musical show annually, and from time to time a concert for other charitable organisations.  In the early 80's we added a biannual musical revue and in 1999 we introduced a Drama Section and have achieved success with our plays going from strength to strength each year.  In 2002 we produced our first pantomime to encourage youngsters to join us and experience the excitement and pleasures of live theatre.
